On Tuesday 2 April, the OCA hosted our first BBC Networking Breakfast of the year in the newly renovated Old Collegians' Pavilion with guest speaker, Naren Sinnathamby (OB 1994). Naren is the Director Commercial Development of Springfield City Group. and is responsible for the company’s commercial assets valued at over half a billion dollars.
Naren's personal ethos is you can inherit a name and money, but you have to earn respect.

Headmaster, Mr Paul Brown invites all members of the College Community to attend the Brisbane Boys' College Commemorative ANZAC Day Service on Wednesday 24 April on the Junior School Green from 8.40am until 10.10am followed by morning tea in the Junior School under croft located (next to The Green) until 10.45am.
• Parking for all guests is available on P&F Oval via the Moggill Road entrance.
• Guests are most welcome to lay a wreath at the service after the three main wreaths have been laid.

Many Old Collegians will remember when the BBC ANZAC Day services were held around the pool. On completion of the new College Hall, a new Memorial was built on the Junior School Green; however, sadly the sandstone blocks that made up the original ANZAC Day Pool Memorial have fallen into disrepair.
The Vintage Collegians and BBC's Facilities team are trying to find any Old Collegians who are stonemasons and can provide an expert opinion on the state of the original Pool Memorial and the possibility of rebuilding it.

DECADE REUNIONS - Starting on Friday 23 August, we will celebrate the Senior Class Reunions of 2009, 1999, 1989, 1979, 1969, 1959 & 1949.
The 1949 and 1959 Reunions will be held in separate spaces at Brisbane Boys' College from 11.15am and the 1969-2009 Reunions will be held in separate spaces at Wests Bulldogs Rugby Club from 7.00pm.
Regardless of whether you repeated or didn't complete your schooling at BBC, if your graduating year would have been in one of the years listed above, you are welcome and encouraged to attend. Please update your details via the links provided to ensure you get your reunion invitation.

On Monday 25 March, 50 members of the BBC Community came together for the OCA’s Meet and Greet function. Representatives from each of the Support Groups, the BBC Council as well as College staff joined the OCA Executive Committee for a night of networking and renewing friendships.

Please find attached the advertising material the PMSA has put together to call for Expressions of Interest for two Community Members of the BBC School Council.
The School Council is delegated the responsibility for administration and performance of the school. The Headmaster reports to the School Council and has operational responsibility for the school. BBC Council is seeking expressions of interest from potential BBC Council members. Preference will be given to candidates who are Brisbane-based, and have a strong commitment to the College, for example as an Old Collegian or past parent.
Closing date for expressions of interest is Friday 26 April.

On Wednesday 13 March, we welcomed30 Vintage Collegians to our annual Toowoomba luncheon. It was a sombre affair as the boys raised a toast for Ken Gold (1949), who passed away unexpectedly on the Monday prior. Ken attended the VC’s weekly meetings for the past 25-years and was a regular fixture at their luncheons. His laughter, love and knowledge of the College will be sorely missed.
Congratulations to all members of our Volleyball First VI team who were crowned undefeated GPS Premiers on Saturday 23 March. It was a successful season for BBC Volleyball with multiple teams in contention for Premierships as they entered their final round matches.
